Montanya staff are family, and it’s not uncommon for employees to find their way to us through friends we already know and love. Bartender and House Ambassador Amy Halasa came to Montanya through friends Brandon Muller and Katie Thomas, and does she ever bring the fun to everything she does! As we think you’ll see in Amy’s spotlight, she’s one of the most confident people we know, full of spunk and fire and grit. We are so inspired!

Finding Crested Butte

I'm From New Jersey and have lived in CB for six years. I found out about CB from my best friend who had moved here from Denver.  I fell in love immediately with this place and moved a couple years later. I have stayed here for the outdoor accessibility, aka biking, snowboarding, camping, hiking etc.

(Not-So) Secret Talent

One thing most people don’t know about me is that I used to be a semi pro wrestler. I was on a team called BLOW (Beautiful Ladies of Wrestling) and my wrestling character is The Psychotic Slayer.

An Inspiration

The person who has inspired me most is my godson John. He has down syndrome and is the coolest. I worked with him at his group home for years and eventually his family asked me to be his godmother. He is truly the strongest and most positive person I know.

Off the Clock

I love mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding, yoga and the outdoors. I try to be outside on my days off and away from crowds. I’m also a DJ at KBUT [Community Radio].
